Boutique, Personal, Jack of All Trades
With a background at high end software consulting firms in both San Fran and NYC, and later national (Pariveda), have worked on projects for hedge fund, real estate, private equity, and investments companies. Was given projects always requiring new skills and technologies be learned quickly.
Currently providing services in Metro Detroit, and remotely, for business and individual clients:
- Software Development (.NET C#, Ruby on Rails)
- Database Work (SQL Server, SSRS, PostgreSQL)
- Website Development and SEO
- IT Services and Maintenance
- Networking and WiFi including Ubiquiti UniFi networking solutions. Enabled 2 remote sites in Canadian bush (no cell service) to have satellite-based (Starlink and slower previously) shared Wifi across a dozen buildings each and maybe 40 devices at each location. Uptime year round even in -40 degree temps. Great fishing and accommodations in the remote Canadian wilderness at client Loch Island Lodge!
- Bit of a Jack of all trades. Mechanical Engineer from U of Mich by education. Coursework in the School of Architecture too.
- Career at Ford included Aluminum Engine Blocks and Transmission cases, specializing in casting processes. Closely involved in finding issue for new Lincoln product launch (new vehicle and new engine), that was risking both launch of premier vehicle and launching of new casting plant and process. Also involved in ensuring a new transmission for the Explorer was both lower manufacturing cost (cost saving $1 million a year) as well as lower warranty costs – through data analysis I did with my boss. Our work changed how the die cast industry approached machine sizing.

Current Active Client Website Examples
- Sollars & Associates (Initial design & build, custom programming, SEO for local locations too, maintenance… prior to another firm updating to new related theme and jazzing it up a bit.)
Custom programming included:- Adding Location and Additional Language entities to WordPress theme and database, and updating Therapist entity.
- Fully integrating Location, Therapist and Additional Language data to leverage uses like: per location therapist listings, and per location additional language summaries. Detail pages are similarly information rich as well. Therapist detail page has location(s) availability and additional language(s) spoken.
- Basically can get both richer summary and detail pages with the interactions of: Therapist(s), Additional Language(s) and Location(s). All from drop downs on Therapist edit screen.
- Eased the process of adding new locations and languages to database, and data entry and updating.
- Loch Island Lodge & Camp Lochalsh
- Joe Cunningham, JD, CPA, PC
- Harah Frost (Painter/Artist)
- Tribute site to Katie Love (Katie sadly passed due to breast cancer)
- Ashby’s BikeMS Fundraising Website (Good friend has MS and have ridden in BikeMS since 2004 raising $4-6K in donations each year. Several years have completed the longer routes for 200 miles for the weekend. Thankfully rest stops every about 15 miles. Well supported rides the MS Society puts on. Many years of 150, 175 or 200 mile weekend rides done on my trusty vintage steel Trek mountain bike from college, with knobby tires. Finally did get a carbon road bike! AND shout out to the great BikeMS Team Circle of Friends, fundraising rockstars all!!)
- (One lawyer client retired – two site snapshots to be posted soon)
BONUS Web 1.0 (1998) Site – dialup friendly!
- BessBonnier.com – Bess was a well known Detroit Jazz Pianist and Composer – sadly passed. Site has accessibility with separate text only site accessed via screen reader with first top right link on home page. Bess was blind and incredible. Piano main page navigation image has rollovers but small on big screens.

Inspirations
- “Acceptance of the unacceptable is the greatest source of grace in this world.” ― Eckhart Tolle (via Katie)
- “Tomorrow is always better.” ― Friend in their deep simplicity
- Honored to have many great friends (co-workers included) and family to learn from and grow with.
- Different(?) but same core issues: “Mental Health vs Stigma” and “Mental Illness vs Stigma”. A shared lesson with many. (26 years strong now!) No one is alone…
Music adds Life
BikeMS Playlists for sponsors over the years. Used to be CDs mailed from 2005 on…- BikeMS 2017-2019 (Be Love More) 3 hours of songs that inspire me lyrically and musically – Spotify – Apple Music

Endurance and Challenge
From high school distance running (9:56 2-Mile), mountain biking, windsurfing for hours or years of BikeMS 150-200 mile weekends and training, I both try to take on life’s challenges in their many forms and states, and acknowledge the climb and time needed to reach them. But also ask, can I “climb” higher?… or can this ______ work or be better? The engineer in me! Translates to many aspects in my life and work.
I kept knobby tires on my BikeMS bike, and didn’t buy a road bike, in part to push myself. And I kept up pretty darn good. And it helped with fundraising…another challenge I enjoyed. Here is the 1990 vintage steel bike that has served well on trails and then roads. Displayed is the bike billboard from one year that I would raffle off which sponsor got to pick the message. Make donating fun and gIve people something back for donating, for they did it year after year.
